🔍Kiwi Sport Reflection🔍

WALT:Reflect on what we did at Kiwi Sport

Today after writing about pollution we went to the hall to have another KiwiSport lesson with Ben at 9:40 and it was Badminton.Firstly we played Stuck in the mud but we had to run  sideways like you have to fully turn sideways and run.Then we had to go back inside the hall and had to listen to Ben.We had to find a buddy and I was buddied with Losana.We had to get 1 Shuttle and a Racket each.

Then Ben explained to to the people with right handed to put your Right foot forward and take 1 or 2 steps to hit the Shuttle,Then he explained to the people who are left handed and they have to put there left foot forward and take to steps to hit the shuttle.Then we had to stand opposite each other and had to forehand hit the shuttle to you partner using the steps.Then Ben explained to us how to hit the shuttle with your backhand grip while moving towards the shuttle.

Ben said we had to put our left leg in front if you were a right handed and had to put your right foot back if you were a left handed,he told us that if we are a right handed we had to put our left foot in front and hand to step across with our right foot.Then we had relays and I was with Losana again and we had to stand opposite again and had to use our technique we learned and we had to use it in our relays.Then we had to finish and we had to go over what we learned,then we had to put our Rackets and Shuttle away and had to line up outside to walk back up to class.

Today I didn't feel like going Kiwi sport because it was early in the morning and I was cold but when we played stuck in the mud I got warmer and warmer. My Highlight of today was playing stuck in the mud because it was quite hard to run sideways.What I found challenging was when we had to take 2 steps to hit the shuttle.What I also liked about today was that everyone got to participate in our warm-up game stuck in the mud.

Kiwi Can Reflection

WALT:Reflect on Kiwi Can

Today we went to Kiwi Can.We were put into 4 groups.We talked about how powerful your tone of voice can be,We used different tones of voice asking others how they would feel if it was used towards them.In order to get to know each other better we walked around the Music Room with music on and once it would stop we would have to pair up with someone and talk about your Name,Nationality,Life Dreams and Favorite food.I was paired up with Losana and we talked about all those things.I said my name was Ana,I am a Tongan my favorite food is KFC and lastly my life dream was to Travel the world or be a musician. When we were put in 4 different groups, we had to act our 4 different plays using your different tones of voices. Each group had to come with a play using the sentence given..
The 4 plays given for us to act out were,


  • Coach Yelling At A Student
  • Siblings Making Cookies, And You Eating Causing Tension
  • Someone Sells Another Person Things
  • Parents Praise Their Child For Getting A Good Report

We watched each others act's and it proved to me that tone of voice is very important

Next week it will be our last week talking about Positive Communication.The Most challenging part I found with Kiwi Can was when, we had to think about what we want to be when we get older, and set them for life goals.

My next steps are to:
Be a good student, and help raise money for me to travel the world, and find new things. One thing I enjoyed the most was when everyone participated in the 4 different acts.

Technology Reflection - Lesson 3 Product Research



WALT:Reflect on what we did at Technology

Today I came to school late because I slept in.I came to school and they were leaving to go on the bus to Technology so I rushed out and went into the bus.I felt Tired when I woke up but I had to come school.When I got on the bus I went and sat with Losana. Then we drove to Tamaki College and had to wait outside when we arrived because we had 4 minutes until Period 1 finishes.During my time at Technology we were working a our Product Research.I felt like I would like this Presentation because I like jewelry.We talked about  Solo - Taxonomy,what  .I have learnt how the Structure order goes and what it means.They are... 

Prestructural-I don't understand,I need help
Unistructural-I have one idea
Multistructural-I have Several Ideas
Relational-I have connections with my ideas
Extended Abstract-Thinking outside the box

Then we got given a paper and we had to draw what we said what our Client likes.I chose my sister because she is kind to me.We had to hold up our paper and had to fold it in half landscape way.I felt like it was going to be challenging for me because I don't really know how to draw and I gave it a try.Then we got given a little bit of time to start our reflection,then we came back to school.I felt happy that we got given a little bit of time because I needed to finish my reflection.Then we walked back to the bus and went back to school and had Morning Tea.

Quad Blogging - Te Taiao o Tamaki

IALT: reflect on what we know about Quad Blogging.

Today I found out that we had this new thing on our blogs and they were called Quad Bloggers. Quad bloggers is just like blogging but you have a list and those are your partners for your blog. My partners are Moroni from Pt England,Uinisieti from St Patrick's and Aaliyahna @ Glenbrae School . I'm not sure if all the Manaiakalani teachers meat up and discuss who they are picking or they just give you a name. When we blog about the environment we have to use this label called Te Taiao o Tamaki.

Get to know me:

My name is Ana and I am currently a year 8 student at TPS. I think im funny but sometimes I dont,I love sports. I love my family. I like to draw in my spare time and I like to blog when I feel like and get my blogpost higher than I did last year. My favorite subject in school is P.E and Maths. What I like about P.E is that everyone has a good time and have fun. What I like about Maths is that I get to learn my Division,Fraction and Times tables.

Math's (Place Value)

IALT:Reflect on what me and my Pairs have done for Maths

Today I was figuring out 12 problems that I have figured out with Metui and Losana and it was about Place Value.We had to figure out the question's by expanding the place value number.For an example were were given in the place value task was 3478 = 3000+400+70+8.If you can work through this problem it wold make more sense.Forwards would be 3000+400+70+8 and it will equal 3,478 and Backwards would be 8+70+400+3000 will equal the same number 3,478.Then we completed the task and here it is.

  2. 764 = 700 + 60 + 4
  3. 809 = 800 + 9
  4. 3698 = 3000 + 600 + 90 + 8
  5. 5087 = 5000 + 80 + 7
  6. 5607 = 5000 + 600 + 7

  8. 43765 = 40000 + 3000 + 700 + 60 + 5
  9. 50790 = 50000 + 700 + 90
  10. 458701 = 400000 + 50000 + 8000 + 700 + 1

Then we finished it to a high standard and i think we got all of the questions right.What I enjoyed was that I got to work with my cousins and finished the task.What I found challenging was that the 12 question was hard because it was a big number to say.What my next steps are is to try read the large place value number.

Today is a rainy day and we went to Technology.We arrived at Tamaki College and the gate was close so Miss Kyla went to look for a Teacher to ask them to open the gate.Then 1st Period finished  and then Mr Grundy came and open the gates.We got off the Bus and went to our Technology classes.I didn't feel like going Technology because it was a yucky day today and I wanted it to be sunny. We were in graphics.We did a Design Brief and it was naming 5 people and I had to pick 1 of them to do a design on.I picked my sister Vainga bacause it was her birthday today but we didn't design anything because Miss Ferguson said we are going to be designing next week.I felt bad on not designing anything today because I have no present to give my sister.What I learned in this Technology session was that a Anklet is a Ankle Bracelet.Then we finished our work and then we had to pack up and get ready to go on the bus and go back to school.

My highlight of today was when I learned what a Anklet is.What I found challenging today was that FInding out what my sister likes.What my next steps are is to ask my sister what she likes.

Attitude Session


WALT:Reflect on the Attitude Program Lesson

Today 2 classes in the Kia Manawanui had the Attitude program in the First Block and It was Room 9 and Room 10.We had to be  in Room 10 at 10 past 9 (9:10) so we did our Roll on etap then we lined up to go to Room 10 and have a 1 hour lesson there.When we got to Room 10 we had a new Instructor for this lesson and his name was Braeden.He Introduced himself to both classrooms and then talked about where he was from in New Zealand.In todaays lesson with Room 10 was that if .The 5 key messages from today's lesson are...

  1. Who am I
  2. Making the right choices
  3. Trying new things
  4. Helping others
  5. Am I normal
Then we went back to our class because we had another lesson with our class only and what I learnt from that Lesson was that being different is OK.Then we did an activity on a workbook and it was about finding your Personality,But you had 4 Animals and they are...

  1. Lion
  2. Otter
  3. Beaver
  4. Golden Retriever
I'll explain to you what the 4 animals are and what they are.A Lion is a Brave person and being a leader.A Otter is a Clown or a Entertainer in the group or class and they have lots of energy.A Beaver is a hard worker,a person that gets all the task and activities done on time and the last animal is a Golden Retriever and they are very good people peacemakers and they love helping people.Today I got to find out what animal I was.Our class had to tick boxes that you think describes your personality.We had 4 boxes and they had the 4 animals personality in it so you had to tick the boxes that you are good at. Here is what the 4 boxes look like...



I felt like I was an Otter because I think I am funny and I mostly ticked the Otter Box/Section.Then Miss Kormor made a Presentation on the Attitude Program and it was saying thing like What were the 5 key Messages were in todays Attitude Program Lesson and more I hope you enjoy and Hope you like it.




What I found Challenging in today's Attitude lesson was that finding what Personality I am was because I am mixed with all of the animals but mostly being a Otter because I think I am funny.What I enjoyed in this lesson was that about 7 to 8 people in the class thought they were an Otter like me.My Next steps are to work on trying to be a beaver because I don't really focus on work sometimes.

Duffy Asemblly

Yesterday we had to pack up our class (Room 9) so we can go to the hall for Duffy Assembly.We packed up the Classroom and put our Netbooks away into the Netbook cupboard or in your bag.We packed up the classroom because after Duffy Assembly we are going to take our bags and go home so we went and lined up outside in the corridor and walked down to the hall quietly.

We got there and we went and sat down on the chairs at the back because the Senior's(Yr 7&8) sit's on the brown chairs at the back.So we sat Down and I sat in the front so I can get a better view of the Duffy Assembly.We got to sing the Duffy song.Then all the classes were seated and we watched the play the Duffy and his friends came with.The play was about Global Girl not knowing how to read and how she flew around the whole world and put the wrong plant in africa because she didn't know how to read.

Along the way around the world she meet Duffy.Duffy has been reading books about many culture but mostly know Tahitian.While they were on there way to Global Girl's Boss Global Girls ask's Duffy to help her with something.Duffy asked what is it and she asked if he could help her with her reading and Duffy said yes.So his first lesson to her was getting the jar full of rose seeds and then tells her to hold it while he tries to draw a rose.

Then he got the grass seeds and drew grass then told us to do an action waving your hands like a seaweed and going side to side.Then we spelled out the word out and then she said the world grass.Then Duffy got given a cape for helping her and that was her saying thanks for helping,Duffy asked if he could be Super Duffy then we answered yes.

Then they both went to the Headquarters and went a saw the boss.She told the Boss that she didn't know how to read and then the boss said that she made the storm in Australia and she said that she fixed it.The Boss said that she was going to take her to someone and she was going to learn from them but Global Girl said that she was going to learn from Duffy.Then Duffy Saluted then the bass said what is he doing to Global Girl then Global Girl said it a Human thing.

Then the Boss said they are going and then Global Girl begged her if she could learn from Duffy and the Boss said yes.She learnt word Grass,but Duffy didn't help her himself we helped her too.At the end they save the world.

What I enjoyed about Yesterday was that it was funny because they couldn't control their landing,and when Duffy came up with a lot of action to help Global Girl know how to read.
